There Was No Warning

Watch the video without the obscene spin of ignorant journalists. First the Jewish supremacists of the IOF called them whores, then they started shooting. There was no warning. Their men weren't "holed up" as western media derisively natters. They were seeking shelter in a mosque, trying to avoid the facist state's mass arrest of men and boys between the ages of 15-35. A short clip follows showing Jewish supremacist snipers shooting unarmed Palestinian boys.

Tenuous Possibilities

http://weekly.ahram.org.eg/2006/819/re62.htm

See also Khalid Amayreh's "National Unity Government is victory for Hamas" at The Palestine Information Center

Yesterday, Ismail Haniyah announced the suspension of talks on a unity government in Palestine. Khalid Amayreh, in the West Bank, reports on earlier talks between Fatah and Hamas.

Before the Beit Hanoun massacre Hamas and Fatah appeared close to reaching an agreement on the formation of a government of national unity. The unity government was expected to include many "technocrats" who are unaffiliated with either Hamas or Fatah.

According to the draft agreement, the central aim of this new government will be the lifting of the draconian Western sanctions imposed by the United States, EU and Israel on the Palestinian Authority (PA) enclaves following Hamas's election victory early this year.

The sanctions have effectively crippled the Palestinian economy, impoverished Palestinians as never before and pushed tens of thousands of Palestinian families to the brink of starvation.
PA President Mahmoud Abbas and Prime Minister Ismail Haniyah met for two hours Monday night (6 November) in an effort to put the final touches on the draft agreement. However, the meeting ended indecisively after Abbas rejected Hamas's choice for prime minister.... more

So how do they do it?

Not much editorializing need preface this briefing from AIPAC that was brought to light by Andrew Winkler's Ziopedia. It speaks for itself and demonstrates the context for a hijacked American political system whose most vocal and persistent special interest group remains the zionist lobby operating under the misnomer of AIPAC (not a registered PAC.... unreal isn't it.)

What is quite evident from the braggart-like text below is that an affiliation with AIPAC apparently is more effective than a master key and magic carpet that leads into each and every legislators office in Washington. I would not be surprised if special AIPAC phones and "shortcuts" were not embedded in our American politicians work and living spaces....

Just how much "Jewishness" is in America?

The 2006 midterm elections and the influence of a pro-Israel Democratic base is still very much on my mind especially as I try to understand how US foreign policy will actually be different with Gates as Defence Secretary and James Baker III's backroom guidance leading a lame-duck Commander-in-Chief. I browsed interesting articles that discussed not so much the influence of Jews in America, but some actual numbers and demographics. Lenni Brenner's CounterPunch article is unusually interesting. Though it dates from 2003 it makes for appropriate reading. [TS] ... more

Its not about Jews, its about Zionism!

I continue to receive insightful and articulate emails from Ziopedia's editor and producer Andrew Winkler based out of Sydney, Australia. While it might be akin to hitting one's head against a stone wall, I still feel it is useful for critics of the Israeli government and US foreign policy to once again state that the object of our rage and demands for change is ZIONISM not Judaism. Jeff Blankfort deconstructs Neve Gordon

At the left, Neve Gordon. This young man has been known as a defender of the Palestinian people, and even here I've published some of his interventions. But, it might not come as a surprise to many, that more and more Israeli supporters of Palestinians are getting cold feet and stressing their loyalty to Israel, despite seeing things that show Israel to be constantly falling deeper into the pit of atrocity and cruelty towards Palestinians and violations of the most essential laws of morality and international relations.

Jeff Blankfort is known to many in the Pro-Palestinian camp. A tireless campaigner and researcher, incredibly intelligent and with a fierce sense of humour, he knows how to deconstruct dubious prose like it's nobody's business. Here, he tears apart something that Gordon thought was providing a defence for himself. .. from Jeff Blankfort:... more

RAFAH TODAY

9 November

A Palestinian woman carrying the body of her child injured by the Israeli occupation forces

A targeted car by the Israeli helicopters

Blood and human flesh is everywhere, we are getting killed

Palesinian children are looking at blood pool of their friends killed by the Isareli tank shells

Palestinian workers trying to help Palestinian man

P alestinian young men gathering around a car that was bombed by Israeli helicopters

We, Palestinians, whether Christian, Moslem or otherwise, are being killed every single day in Palestine . Our houses are being demolished, our roads being destroyed, our children being slaughtered, our lives being taken away by the Israeli helicopters, bulldozers, tank shells, and airplane rockets. Our lives are violently, yet quietly being taken away by the Israeli Occupation Forces. The murder here is loud and graphically violent, yet scarcely a whisper of these atrocities is heard through the news organizations of the West.

The situation here is completely insane. Day after day, Israelis come to our homeland and kill, kill, kill as if Gaza was a shooting gallery in a carnival. All over Gaza are leftovers of the Israeli frenzy to shoot at anything that moves. Legs and arms of innocent Palestinian children laying on streets and remaining rubble from what was once someone’s house. What was once tiny soft pliable fingers from a baby can be found hardened like rocks on Palestinian soil. One can find a piece of a head with the brains oozing out like a melon.

Our children’s blood runs through the streets of Palestine and no one cares, certainly not Israeli and Jews in America or Britain . Why do these children have to die? New born babes in Beit Hanoune were welcomed into this world by Israeli artillery fire. Israeli tanks blew up their homes while they were asleep.... more

RE: Al-Awda urges UW divestment from Israel
http://badgerherald.com/news/2006/11/10/alawda_urges_uw_div.php

Dear Badger Herald,

I am grateful that Al-Awda urges UW divestment from Israel.

It makes good moral sense- and financial sense. Divestment is a gentle and compassionate way to confront a very real crime against humanity.

And I think it is very very creepy that Hillel centers- youth camps for Israeli propagandists in training- are on so many American college campuses. Imagine if Germany had had such a network for advocating toxic Nazi ideologies. The world would have been a very different place indeed with Hitler and his heirs still in power.

A foreign country should not be interfering with America's educational systems and fourth estate- and our Congress. And yet one foreign country has been given free reign to do exactly that !

Our "friend" Israel is not a democracy at all. It is a bastion of Jewish Supremacism and a blatantly racist war on the native non-Jewish population of the Holy Land. Political Zionism is an investment in institutionalized bigotry and apartheid with immigrant bigots given rights, freedoms, land and resources stolen from the persecuted, impoverished and imprisoned Palestinians.

America has already realized that segregation- and genocide- is utterly evil and wrong... so why are we so willing to help fund, empower and excuse racist Israel's insane quest to divide and destroy Palestine!

Sincerely,
Anne Selden Annab

RE: "Palestinian bias" letter by Helen Brewer
http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/news/opinion/15985621.htm

Dear Editor,

Good heavens, Israel a foreign country has propaganda outfits in every city and every college campus and Palestinian voices and viewpoints are rarely heard anywhere in American newspapers- yet you have a letter writer complain about "Palestinian bias":
Israel is busy oppressing, dividing and destroying Palestine in every way possible while vilifying the persecuted and impoverished Palestinians because they dare object.

Weigh the weaponry- Apartheid Israel is one of the most powerful miltaries on earth and the besieged Palestinians hardly have any food or water- much less weaponry. All the Palestinians really have is the truth on their side and righteous indignation at racist Israel's many crimes against humanity.

And what exactly is Israel protecting... Its "right" to make more and more Palestinian refugees and then bomb the refugees camps? It's "right" to steal more and more Palestinian land, rights and resources ? Its "right" to invest in Jewish privileges and pride while the native non-Jews are treated like garbage to be kicked to the curb !

I say free Palestine AND America from the Zionist stranglehold on us all.

Sincerely,
Anne Selden Annab

Dear Editor,

What a delight to see so many letters on the Middle East- in particular, quite simply "It's Time For Palestinian View To Be Publicized".

Although I find it disconcerting- hypocritical really- that any one in America supports the idea of Israel as the Jewish State. Political Zionism is nothing but armed institutionalized bigotry, and it is the complete antithesis of every American ideal that we are supposed to cherish and defend. Where is the freedom or justice, equality- and true democracy- in an ideology that creates apartheid plus the largest longest running refugee crisis in the world today.

And would Israel even be but for its many propagandists playing every side at once so as to empower Jewish Supremacism in the Holy Land and even here at home in the USA? More Jews have just been elected to Congress than at any other time- and many Jews in America are famous and have huge fortunes. There is no need for this fiction called the Jewish State. That place should be Palestine for ALL the people.

RE: Whom should we honour? letter by Garry Horsnell

Dear Editor,

I very much appreciated Garry Horsnell's fascinating letter "
Whom should we honour? " that speaks of commemorating soldiers- but reminds us that while all soldiers might be valiant the causes they have been sent out out defend are not.

Who indeed should we honour. And who should we believe. One man's terrorist really is another man's freedom fighter. State sponsored terror is the ultimate tyranny, and in this age of modern weaponry its reach and power to completely destroy an individual- a family- a community... or an entire country should not be ignored or dismissed.

Nor should the propaganda that leads to war be ignored. With out fully free speech our leaders can be too easily led astray.

RE: A simple road to Middle East peace
By Zahi Khouri
http://www.signonsandiego.com/uniontrib/20061110/news_lz1e10khouri.html

Dear Editor,

Thank you for publishing Zahi Khouri's A simple road to Middle East Peace. What a delight to come across a well informed compassionate voice- a Palestinian voice- in your pages.

But Khouri is much more kind and more patient about Israel right now than I am. Perhaps that comes from the fact he has spent a lifetime knowing that time and time things just go from bad to worse under Israeli rule, and the name of the game is to play up hope and be polite about political Zionism and the so-called Jewish State.

Unlike Khouri, I have no patience left, no sympathy or interest is seeing Israel's immigrant bigots, Jewish Supremacists, generously subsidized settlers and religious zealots armed and empowered with American money and support. I am an American through and through, raised on the inspiring words of Martin Luther King JR and a more real democracy and thus I am utterly disgusted and repulsed by the manipulative war machine that is Israel today. I am fed up with Israeli lies and propaganda and I am firmly object to and denounce Israel and its blatantly racist war on the native non-Jewish population of the Holy Land: That place should be Palestine for ALL the people.

Sincerely,
Anne Selden Annab

Dear Editor,

Good to see your editorial board turning its eyes towards besieged Gaza where a huge Israeli made economic and humanitarian crisis is intentionally destroying Palestinian families one by one by one- in many many ways.

This latest Israeli "shelling" is one in a long line of more obvious Israeli attacks that have been killing Palestine's children for years... There is nothing "errant" about Israel's intentional persecution, oppression, impoverishment and imprisonment of the Palestinians.

And there is nothing "errant" about Apartheid Israel's blatantly racist laws and walls. Such institutionalized bigotry and brutality is all a very intentional act and insult - and a crime against humanity- that simply should not be ignored or excused.

Dear Editor,

Thank you for headlining the fact that "
French Forces Almost Fired On Israeli Jets: F-15s Dived on Peacekeepers In Lebanon"

Israel constantly talks peace and security while harassing and harming millions maybe even billions of people in multiple ways, making sure countless people are impoverished and very insecure.

Can any one actually still believe Israeli spin any more ! Can any one trust the many professional propagandists and promoters for political Zionism and the misnamed Jewish State's constant war on the world.

The real "technical failure" is that so many of the world's leaders, both political and religious, have idolized, protected and even helped fund modern man made Apartheid Israel instead of condemning its nefarious existence and its ongoing crimes against humanity and the people of Palestine.

RE: Mohamed Khodr's EXCELLENT letter " Israel and the Loss of Palestinian Lives in Gaza"
http://www.nytimes.com/2006/11/10/opinion/l10israel.html

Dear Editor,

Thank you for publishing Mohamed Khodr's EXCELLENT letter " Israel and the Loss of Palestinian Lives in Gaza". Israeli patterns of bigotry and brutality covered up by plenty of polished spin are clear and we are fools not to notice and condemn the ongoing apartheid and genocidal acts of the misnamed Jewish State.

Sincerely,
Anne Selden Annab

RE: TERRORISTS' SECRET WEAPON: US
http://www.nypost.com/seven/11092006/postopinion/letters/terrorists_secret_weapon__us_letters_.htm

Dear Editor,

I vehemently disagree with the letter writer who asserts that in Iraq the terrorists "only hope" comes from antiwar activists here in the Untied States. Mr. Salles is the one helping terrorists by saying utterly ridiculous things like "Democrats literally want to give up because the enemy is fighting back".

I am antiwar because I think armed violence and aggression and the killing of civilians is wrong period. Life is precious and should be preserved. My pleas that we bring our troops home are not because I think terrorists in Iraq will inflict huge harm on US as much as I know our superior weaponry and armies can and will swiftly inflict huge harm on millions of innocent people and countless communities, completely obliterating treasures of every type.

Sincerely,
Anne Selden Annab

Palestinian Refugee Situation Worsens On Either Side Of Wall And In Iraq
Najib Farag - Bethlehem

The Center for Palestinian Residency and Refugee Rights is a consulting member of the International Commission for Human Rights.
Grassroots organizations and the Center met in Bethlehem and penned a statement on international protection, submitted to the Executive Committee of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees.

They wrote that restoring property and providing compensation are in order for Palestinian refugees of 1948 when the state of Israeli was created, and the refugees of 1967 when the Israeli occupation of the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip began.
The Center emphasized that all the international players, including those from governments and organizations, need to double their efforts to bridge the enormous gap that exists between the resolutions of the United Nations and the reality of the case of Palestinian refugees. The UN is not being honored, nor are the Palestinians.

Under UN Resolution 194, the Right of Return, Palestinian refugees and displaced persons have the right to return to their homes, and are entitled to property rights and compensation. Families still have the keys to their homes and parents still tell their children what grew on their land. The papers are in order and those are passed down as well. These are not myths. The Right of Return is an individual and collective right that no one can legally negotiate away, regardless of the political climate at any particular point.... more

Palestine experts see little hope for peace

Palestine experts see little hope for peace

By: Will Youmans - The Arab American News

.....
In the session on future strategies, several of the speakers agreed that the Palestinian Authority’s mandate collapsed and that the body should dissolve. It was a product of the Oslo peace process. Yet, it has outlasted its reason for existing. Under its leadership, Palestinians have only become worse off. They live under more checkpoints, more direct and indirect rule from Israel, and now face a gigantic apartheid wall the PA was incapable of preventing.

The real reason the PA should no longer exist, they argued, is that it provides a distraction from Israeli crimes. Every time Israel commits an egregious act, violates Palestinian rights, or stalls in implementing any obligations, Israel and the United States find some way to pin blame on the PA. It has become a powerless whipping boy that Israel and the United States prop up in order to avoid accountability.
